Google add ons and extensions

There's a subtle difference between a Google Add on and a Google Extension.

Add-ons

  • An add-on is added onto a google app like Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, to help you do cool things in your apps (eg a table of contents, a chart builder, an automated mail merge etc). Find an add-on from the menu at the top of your document/file

Extensions

  • An extension is added to your Chrome Browser - It gives your browser more functionality (eg the ability to record a screencast or use a font that's good for Dyslexics)
  • The school pushes the Google Read &Write extension - which provides a number of functions to support literacy - to every teacher and students' laptop. Find out more HERE
